Upgrade Your Bedroom: DIY Floating Nightstand with Wireless Charging - Plus Woodworking Plans!

This was a challenging project - designing and building side tables for my captain style bed. These tables have French cleats at the back to hold them in place, and they are made from walnut with dovetails and a little shelf on the bottom. One of the tables even has integrated wireless charging. I’ve put together a detailed set of plans for these side tables, which are available for purchase here. The goal was to wrap the grain of the walnut around the three visible edges of the tables, which was difficult to achieve. I had to make changes and adjustments along the way, including using hidden splines in my cabinet miters, and dovetails for the drawers. I even had to mill up another piece for my drawer back after I cut the wrong part. Overall, the project was challenging, but I succeeded in designing and building these beautiful side tables.
